hey guys i need some help i am going with a cyntrifical clutch because well i already have one and and i have a 5 hp briggs i want to know hwat the best formula or setup i can get for best performance with goos speed and wheelies mainly speed over wheelies i just i only want to buy one sprocket and not a tone for best performane is a smaller sproket bast for wheelies or opposite and whats good for good acceleration with a decient speed if i can get a formula that would be nice Thank you

Just divide your clutch sprocket into the axle sprocket to get the ratio The higher the number the lower the gear ratio ie 70 tooth axle sprocket divided by 13 tooth clutch = 5.38 gear . a good rule of thumb the closer the axle sprocket is to the ground the lower the gear hence the better take out but the slower the top speed.

??Surely larger the axle sprocket ,the higher the speed /slower the take off??

No Red: the larger the drivin or axle sprocket to lower the gear and slower. The bigger the driver or clutch sprocket The higher the gear or the higher the Speed . Think about it if the clutch speed is at 3000 rps and the ratio is say 5.38 take the 5.38 ratio into the 3000 rpms of the clutch speed = 557 axle rpm now lets go to a 76 tooth axle sprocket and do the same math with a 5.84 ratio 3000 divided by 5.84 = 513 axle rpm (slower)

Yes, more teeth on the axle sprocket, More POWER.....but even with a 72 on mine and a 12 tooth clutch with the 3.5 HP Honda I couldn`t pull wheelies without pulling on the handle bars! Heff

As an Englishman ,and a gentleman ,I stand corrected sir!!

Now if you really want to pull wheelies, then go with a TAV. From what I have read, clutches are difficult to pull wheelies with.

You may have some luck with a large rear sprocket, but then you lose all your speed and that's no fun...

Spend the money go TAV! I had a clutch ($60 one ) and it was a dog! Heff
