Well, Lets just call this first frame a "Proto-Type".
I built my entire Classice Cruiser frame today. To bad it's an inch too short. (for my design)
Since I have my stool turned with a leg in front and back, I decided to go two inches longer on the frame. (puting an extra inch in front and one in back) but I forgot that when I welded the first cross piece in front of the engine plate, (I forgot to add the extra inch.) and then finished the entire bottom of the frame. Then I started to lay out the rest of the front end. And found out the pitman arm will hit the front leg of the stool.
I already finish welded everything. (foolish mistake on my part). But things were going so smoothly...:bigcry:
So I just ordered another engine plate, and hanger brackets.:cussing:
I'll redo the frame tomorrow before the Super Bowl.

Sorry to hear that Gadget man. A lot of time goes into the setup and welding of the frames. At least you are able to get going quickly from what it sounds like you have some fabrication skills.

Don't feel too bad, on one of my first builds the Pro Street Cruiser, I got in a rush and welded to many parts at one time with out letting it cool down and warped my frame. So I know how you feel. And I did not notice the warp until I was done!

Good Luck and let see some photos soon!

Mike, thanks for the kind words about my fabrication skills, :thumb:
I just wish my welding skills matched my fab. skills. :bigcry:
That was one of the reasons I was so quick to junk my first frame, my welds suck. I just got a wire feed for Christmas and this is my first project.
I did build the new frame today, it is much better. This time I added another 2 inches. So the basic frame is now at 38 inches.
So now have plenty of room for the pitman arm, and enough room for the rear disk brake caliper mount. On the first frame, I had an additional cross brace for the rear stool leg to sit on, so it left me real tight for the caliper mount.
This time I only tacked everything together, I have to wait for my new engine mounting plate before I go any further.

I'll have my kids help me post some pics soon.
