It is personal choice. Most guys don't have a way to bend round tubing. I don't so i am making mine out of square.

Hey Big,

Round tubing in some designs can look nicer, but like Buddy said, you have to have a way to bend it, know how to bend it, you most likely will need to do some notching on the ends and for the most fun, weld the tubing.

The smaller the tubing the harder it is to get a nice weld unless you have been doing it for a while.

I have been wanting to design a round tube version of the Classic Cruiser, but my tubing skills need some work before I start that.

Good Luck!

are you kidding? round tube looks great. Not to take anything away from square. I am making my motorized pedal car out of square, and I think it is much easier to work with than round. I built 3 barstools out of round, and I love the look. It's all in what you prefer.
Be sure and post some pics of your progress

yeah i was just wondering, im having trouble deciding how to mount the stool...i was thinking about running two pieces of 2 inch angle iron as cross members and notching them out to have more space to weld. Dont get me wrong i kno first hand tube is hard to weld but its the first one im building but its def not going to be the last i will post a picture up soon

Hello, Welcome and that 2 inch angle iron is going to be a little big. Why not get some 1 inch square tubing and build running boards onto your frame. Then mount your stool to them. Take a look at this thread and see how I attached my stool! Post some pics so we can see your progress and also will help us to see if we can give better help!

Hey BigSmith, I think that frame looks great. You will need a couple cross members but I would leave it as wide as it is. It will make it stable and comfortable to ride. Maybe think of using a "Diff" rear axle. You could use 1/8" diamond plate to create a floor...it makes mounting the Stool really easy and you can even use it to mount the engine. Keep "Fabbing " and post lots of pic's. Welcome to this cOOOOOOOOl site!!! Snakester

I weld on a regular bases like every day, Big and I can give you a little hint. I fyou go with round tube and have a set of torches a good work bench and some larg pipe you can get pretty good bends out of the frame that way its what I did take a look
