Hey Jake,

Get the 11 Ga (1/8") wall. It is what most builders use when building with the 1 x 1 square tubing. I would have them cut the sticks into 3 8' sections to make it easier to handle when cutting.

Don't worry about waste, just start out with the straights, then all the 45's and go from there and measure your left overs to use for other cuts.

I would get 4 8' if you can so you have a little extra. Unless they make you buy it by the stick, then 6 8' cuts and you will have plenty to screw up with...

Have Fun!

Mike Bean!

I agree with mike! The 1/8" is easier also to weld without burning through. It will stand up also to harder use and you will not have to worry at speeds or under more strain that it will bend or brake! I have used some of the thinner to make brackets or mounts with but have always used the 1/8" for the main load bearing parts of the frame! Post some pics soon!:thumb:

It pays to shop around. Same supplier a week later on the same material might be 10 bucks cheaper. or visa versa. There not making money!

I have no idea what a "foot" of 1x1 1/8 wall weighs,
I paid a Buck a foot. it was in 24 foot lenghts, they cut it into 8' pieces and loaded it for that price (tax included).
So I bought 48 feet, good thing, since I screwed up on my first frame and had to start over.
