Don't know if the other (newer ) pics made it. They show all of the upgrades in my list. I worked for a while reducing them to a size that would zip and be small enough not to cause a problem....THANKS

Did you build the tubs yourself?

hey guys, this could sound stupid but what about the wheelie bars? i just cant find an engine and cant imagine how you can create a wheelie with it :S any explanations?

[Yes...THANKS

It's not a stupid question..When I walk with it ( I don't have to pull it ) @ events 95% of the people do not understand until I show them. The most fun is when I have a crowd behind me ( I hear their comments ) and I stop it. The led brake light bar illuminates...they walk up and conversation starts...after a few minutes of not seeing the motor I gently press the reverse throttle to nudge it backward slowly...its the Sonalert backup alarm that gets their attention...almost startling..
When studmonkey gets the final set of pics and adds them here you will see the motor, batteries, and controller....as for the wheelie bars..I did not think to take a pic of the wear on them...maybe a pic of a 275 LB idiot with the front wheels off the ground would be better....The motor is a 875watt 24VDC transaxle..the controller is fully programable and is often used in battlebots....the fast setting has the accel ramp set @ 0...so all the torque is instant...and with the IR comp set @ max I have sat on the wagon ( 275lb ) and with my son in law ( 150lb ) on the trailer and ridden from the outside flea market north end...to my truck 2 miles away. It will go around 25 miles with a 200lb load...before slowing below 6mph..the first 10 miles @8mph...THANKS
ps: I just noticed that the pics included the early version of chassis with leaf springs ( now coilover shocks ) and no drivetrain...the latest pics I am trying to get to studmonkey will show the latest chassis and drive train more clearly with the tub ( body ) off..

wouw thats very nice bro. BTW can you recharge the battery? how long does it takes?? very nice autonomy :D

RUBICON
August 30th, 2005, 03:11 PM
There are 2 batteries. Gell cell @ 55AH each. The recharge time depends on how low they are. At full charge they are around 26.5vdc and after 25 miles or so they are around 23vdc..they will go longer but at lower speed. After a day of 12 miles the recharge lasts 3hours or so...The charger is a special one for this type of battery..around $250

I have new pics of the latest suspension..and other details....resurected old digital cam that takes smaller pics...works better than shrinking them....Look for them in a new thread maybe battery powered thread.....

I have completed the latest wagon mods for this Springs trip to Charlotte Motor Speedway Autofair..The suspension is all new...5 link rear and billet dropped front axle with coilovers all around..the handlebar is new with on-off control in it along with throttle...have XM radio system to add.....will wear FM headphones and pick up the modulated signal from the XM...making a small license plate that says " OLDIES FROM OUTER SPACE - XM RADIO"..the fenders on the trailer are new this year...and I have the works to add LED turn signals that will automatically flash when I turn more than a few degrees...it will add to the flash in the LED brake light bar....tried to capture the Zenon strobes flashing in the tailpipes but no luck...also have to reinstall my spare polished Nitrous bottle off my Barstool ( its just for show anyway but has real gas in it )....enjoy

Wow, It literally has balls, Wondering if they are balls of steel or aluminum?

RUBICON
February 4th, 2006, 06:49 PM
Billet BALLS..home made..with stainless tubing hanger...they swing and sway...and one person actually noticed that one hung lower....go figure

RUBICON
February 4th, 2006, 06:54 PM
Voodoo...I have a pair of 35ah and a pair of 55ah gel cells...the 35s will go over 20 miles with me riding it...I don't know how far the 55s would go....top speed is 8mph for the first 5 miles or so then 6.5-7 for the next 10 or so then 5mph for the rest......it has a speedometer and odometer...

wow that is nice work. what are the exhausts for? just for show? they look sweet.

RUBICON
February 5th, 2006, 11:24 AM
Exhausts are aluminum tubing....for fun...but have zenon strobes inside....the interior of th epipes is painted red...they flash and you can see it from hunderds of feet behind...just another detail to get attention....this thing has evolved over 4 years and I change something every year...it draws crowds...and when the real critics come close I want them to see real substance and detail....there's something for everyone...I get every question from "Where did you buy it?"...to "Who built it for you?"...GET REAL!.....

But thats the way most people would have to get something like that. Like you and warpaint were talking about skill and knowledge just isn't passed on anymore. And most people that do have it don't have the time or the money. That is a pretty cool toy rubicon any idea what it has cost you to get it to the stage it's at now. I really hope you a retired or independently wealthy because if you hold down a job and can still find time to build toys with as much detail as yours...then I really need to do a better job of managing my time...Keep up the good work..

RUBICON
February 5th, 2006, 09:48 PM
Cost was never the object...just a method of passing time and expressing my ideas....like all of this stuff.....a little at a time doesn't seem like so much....but I did add it all up once.....I wouldn't tell cause most would think it's crazy...which it is to most...THANKS
