What's it take (engine/gearing) to smoke tire with your BSR? Assume maybe a set of 11" tall x 6" wide rears.
Is it all technique rather than HP?
Thanks!

Hey Eek,
Let's first find out what kind of engine you plan to run and then see if it's possible to do on dry pavement.
What's your power plant going to be?

I was going to use the 6.5 Sterling (stock) and simple clutch. I don't have a ratio yet. 11" dia tires.

Dont think you could get a rear sprocket big enough to smoke the tires unless you had front breaks and leaned foward a bit or use a jack shaft to get a lower gear ratio.

And the clutch, I would not try. The cheap clutches are not that great even for pulling wheelies. You need a TAV and more power I think to smoke the tires on pavement, especially on dry pavement.

6.5Hp Motor to smoke the tires with a cheap clutch, (Lets get real about the horse power Issue)
Its simple here is what it takes to smoke the tires as follows,
(Big money = big horse power) Its a simple formula I have used for years in my low ten second drag car.
Or as I say, "how many wheel barrel's full of cash are you pushing to the parts store to acheave your goals"
A really cheap simple solution I have seen before is to oil your rear tires real good and push your stool back & forth until they are fully soaked with oil and put some on the ground in front of your rear wheels and have two of your best friends hold the front from going forward and than put it to the floor, and Beer is also a good factor before getting started if your old enough.
