I was just wondering how well the slicks and/or treaded go-kart tires held up on gravel? I wouldn't be driving totally on gravel, but I would have to take gravel to certain places that I go when I ride it. If anyone can help me out that'd be great!

I used burris tires, with the treaded version, if you use a harder compound it will last alot longer then the soft compound. Plus plenty of traction. I can't remember the exact numbers, but here is their site.... http://www.burrisracing.com/

you'll have better traction on gravel with treaded tires, also the tires make better stone throwers (ouch),,, with the slicks it'd be more like you're running on marbles,,,for longer wear use hard rubber compounds.

shouldn't have a problem, only flat i've got was from a nail and I had a plug put in it, it holds air but not as good.

sounds good thanks, now what do u guys recommend for tires? when I used to race carts we ran maxxis and some others that I can't remember? I can't decide on slicks or tread either?

it's less likely that gravel/crushed stone will puncture the treaded tire. Burris makes a real nice tire. The treaded tire makes a better all surface tire especially on wet surfaces.

Burris treads 8.10 for the rears and 7.10 for the fronts. Match with douglas rims.Mike runs the treads, so he can probably steer you in the right direction for cost savings. They are more expensive than slicks.
