wow! That thing would be so awesome to have on a bsr!!

yeah, can you imagine a bsr drifting (smokin' the hides) with this engine ?? I've bought all the parts to build another bsr (or 2) and was going to use a 9hp. Briggs Vanguard with a Horstman clutch and 205x30x10 rear tires on Douglas 10x7 4 spoke rims but was concerned about being able to smoke the tires and the engine is really too large without chopping a ring on the stool, with this rotary it shouldn't be an issue, at 8500rpms this screamer is made to ROAR, must sound wild too.

Mike I just ran the 360* demo, I really love the looks, simplicity and compact size, header can come out the back also. No need to modify inferior engines and technology, it's MADE for 8500 rpms and it's ONLY 30lbs. to boot, NOT likely to blow anything up, looks like the drive is on the right side instead of the left too. would need a 428 axle sprocket. I LOVE this engine already it's Da BOMB !! lol .... T-Bolt

looks like a manly sized header too, no pea sized pipe on this bad boy !!! It's built to BREATHE, no floating valves getting in the way, few moving parts, few major parts, what's NOT to like ???

at 8500rpms, that sucker has got to sound like a Formula 1 racer buzzin down the street, probably need a 5 point race harness to stay on the seat !!! LOL It's gotta stand the hairs up on yer neck and send shivers down yer back,,, oooooowwwwwwwwww !!

another thing I like is the intake manifold runs more inline with the engine, on my Briggs Animal engine the intake comes out the corner complicating the intake manifold/stool leg clearance and the airfilter/tire clearance - plus it looks stupid (air filter next to tire that kicks up dust,,, DDDUUUHHHH) !! The exhaust on the Aixro looks simple too in the block center, no complicated/ugly bends needed for a header/muffler either out the center back (looks MUCH better/balanced), and a good size pipe too.

plus an onboard starter would be mounted in a great location, wouldn't complicate engine mounting, out of the way.

I finally got a price from the dealer for this awesome engine, $5150, includes engine and mounts, carb and filter, clutch and cover, front sprocket, exhaust header and silencer. not too bad considering the 48hp and high rpms, compact and lite weight right out of the box.

Wow!
Way too much money for that motor. You can do a lot more with a atv engine / cycle engine for a lot less...
Ok, so who is going to be the first to buy one here?

Well Mike, I agree that it certainly is pricey but it also has it's merits relative to either the ATV or bike engines. It's compact size and very lite weight makes it a breeze to mount in ANY BSR, you'd have a tight squeeze getting some of the others mounted. I was surprized that a 9 hp Briggs OHV that I bought would have clearance problems mounting it under a barstool without cutting the ring. As someone who has built several engines for garden/mini tractor pullers I know first hand what it costs to build/modify a pulling engine, it's not uncommon to put several thousand dollars into one, that engine after all is a DURABLE gokart RACING engine and what do they have into a comparable piston engine ?? I must say that I'm NOT about to jump on one at that price unless I was building a serious racing machine for a circuit. It was fun considering it for this sport and if money wasn't an issue I'd certainly go for one even though it's overkill for a BSR, it'd probably be insanely fast. T-Bolt

,,,,for that kind of horsepower (48hp) I've got an old Kohler K341 flathead single cyl. Pro Stock pulling engine on Methanol that I could fit under a stool that I might use, I already have it and don't have anywhere near that into it for what it'd cost to go with the rotary engine. Our newer Pro Stock engines use aftermarket blocks so the OEM Kohlers are a bit outdated and under powered AND cheaper. Hhhhmmmmmmm.

lol cmon people....stick a 1000cc fuel inyected engine...not 48 hp...you´ll have 100 + - with your transmision already sticked in there with turbo capability and up to 250 hp :D

Speedy, I think that this Briggs engine is the bigger block that runs from 8-13 horsepower with minor differences. I bought a 9hp. Briggs OHV engine on special that had a missing carb and muffler but haven't actually started building a bsr frame for it. I know that I'll have to modify the flywheel/fan cover (it has an electric starter) so that it clears the stool legs on the right side if I want to keep the engine fairly centered under the stool. Not sure if I need to cut the rear portion of the ring or just mount it a little lower in the frame. I just sat the stool over the engine on the floor to see roughly where I was at to start with. Fills up the space under the stool nicely, a big block compared to my small block Briggs Animal in my first stool. I like the exhaust exit location better too and have a Tillotson carb but need to make a manifold for it. I'm also using a 1" shaft Buller built clutch and may use a 420 chain. The Robin engine is probably quite similar to the Briggs and may be a good choice also.
