Wing Thing

[Frozen Bohemian]

Got to making the wing for the back of the KOOLERKART.
Had some .090" aluminum sheet and a bunch of misc aluminum angles.
Overall wing is 20" wide by 14" with 6" tall side plates.
The mount is fastened to the front of the engine where the gas tank mounts. I made this from 3/4" tubing.
The wing is hinged at the rear so I can access the gas tank.
The engine turned finish was done with a ROLOC scotchbrite disc.
Not much else to describe, have a look at the pics.

good job bohemian, it looks pretty good! why so small? I really like the finish on it too! seems like it would be easy, is it?

I spent about 8 hours sawing up the metal, doing the engine turned finish, and assembly.
Small???? 20 x 14 seems like a monster size wing for a vehicle with a 30 " wide axle.
Actually it is proportioned to the size of the cooler I am using as a "seat".
and it is big enough to hold an entire 24 pack of beer.

is that secret weapon a shampoo bottle spray painted white? ;) the cap looks awful suspicious!

OK I am busted
I did a NOS bottle on my last project, the Mini-Chopper. It was actually an old fire extinguisher painted blue metalflake. It was a huge attraction!
So I wanted to add this to the koolerlkart.
Maybe I should strap a six-pack of beer under the motor mount instead...
