I was planning on buying the $139.00 kit on this site but my buddy knew I would end up chopping it up and redesigning it, so I'm going to buy the hangers & spindles parts and build my own chassis?
I have 1 simple question what is the wheel base and width of the frame?
Thanks Rich D

Pro, I believe most guys here use the stool legs as the width. About 15" The wb is up to you. The shorter the better. I believe its Mbean that has stool plans for sale here somewhere. Might check those out. He also has pics of the completed stool that uses the plans. Glenn

I went about 15" inside of the tire for width (equals about 24" outside of the tires) and 26" center to center on axils.

I seem to recall for NOBRA standards, a basic design is based on wheel base of all things. There's really only 3 requirements:
1. outside -2- outside wheel base is 40" or less
2. rear axle -2- front spindle space is 29" or less
3. seat height (frame to seat pan) is 28"
Building a racer anything less would be futile... get'r as wide as possible.
Anyways, thats my $0.02...

I have to agree with supra,
the wider the better man. Looks evil with that wide stance you know

Being that im building a drag stool im going to adjust the seat as low to the motor as I can.....Not because I dont have the balls...its because I aint dumb. A high center of gravity, wind resistance, and all the other factors that come into play when flying down the strip would leave my @ss unable to enjoy the machine I built after I crash and burn. So to the guys @ NOBRA please reconsider the seat height specs for drag applications........Just thought I'd put it out there...Pics of my frame will be posted as soon as I find time to cut out the frame....Laters:hot:

If youre not going to be racing in a nobra sanctioned event, which nobra doesnt sanction drag stools or events, then why worry about it? Build her like you want her. I built a VATO machine with a short seat (16 inches from the pan with a set of ape hangers on it. Make the machine what you want it, if youre racing the machine and nobra specs dont apply, make her like you want it
