Now how does he steer that thing with the blade on the back?
If I remember correctly, a while back I watched a mpeg of him riding that thing and he crashed on his second pass, but you could not see the crash just hear it....
Crazy Ride, I bet that thing flies! Looks like a 350 Chevy Engine...

Mike, here's one of the sites that has the crash of Kerry McLean, he added the airfoil after the crash, I think the vertical tail fins help with steering in addition to body steering as on a regular motorcycle. The engine is an all aluminum Buick V8 with dual quads no less. I like the smaller versions that he made with small single cylinder engines,,, NOT much storage space needed, eh ?? LOL. Looks like a blast to drive AFTER you get the "hang" of it. hhheeehhheeee !!!

Thanks Chuck, great engineering in those units, sure fire attention getters to say nothing about the thrill/anxiety of driving one. A small wheel at $8500. doesn't sound too bad. Here's another off the wall project, a personal flying suit (a.k.a., a Monocopter), the detail is incredible, would be cool to see someone actually fly with it. Maybe time will tell.

Kerry's awesome machine has a Buick 215 cube all aluminum V8 with two four barrels, aluminum radiator, looks like 3 alignment rollers, not sure how it transfers power from engine to the rim, possibly a belt or chain driven friction wheel ?? or maybe the pulley has a gear to drive a toothed inner wheel ring. anyone have any ideas ??

How does he stop this thing? Looks like the momentum would cause it to spin if he tried to stop quick? CRAZZZZZYYYYY!!!!!!

I havn't got a clue how to ride the one in the last picture but with a 'normal' monowheel the 'spinning over' thing is usually called 'gerbiling'. You can do it if you accelerate to fast or brake to hard! You just have to be carefull with the controls. Great fun to ride though! unfortunately I can't get it road legal here in the UK.
