I got the motor today and started to assemble or disassemble it to make all of it fit under the stool. I ran into trouble early on. I tried all of the mower shops in town trying to find a smaller gas tank so the stool would sit where its supposed to. Nobody seems to stock extra gas tanks, so back home I went ready to set it up to run without the stool until I gan get a different tank. I got it all hooked up after a few hours, filled the engine with oil and gas, then fired her up. After working on the throttle setup for a couple of hours, I was able to balance myself on the foot rests and ride it standing up. Even though its not a real BSR at this point, it's still a blast!!! The Tecumseh 6.5 i got has plenty of power. I can only guess, but I felt as though it was running about 10 MPH. Thats fast enough while standing on 1x1 tubing. I just knew my foot was going to slip, then i'd be hospitalized. I'm going to keep looking for those last few parts to get it just right, but till then, I'm surfing down the road on a stool-less BSR.

Josullivan,
Looking great! I lucked out and found a gas tank for mine that I could mount to the back of the barstool. Although you have to admit it is more fun trying to fit everything under the stool, but that Tech Power Sport makes that a bit tough.

Yeah, it is fun trying to make it all work. I broke 3 drill bits trying to drill the hole for the throttle bolt. It still needs to be re engineered i guess. The throttle is too sticky. It seems to be in a bind. Maybe i need to get the smaller gauge cable, or find a better way to attach the end of the cable by the throttle where it's not going to bind up. If anybody has any close up photos of theirs, i'd appreciate getting a look at them to help get past this hurdle.

Josullivan,
glad to hear you got it going... Also glad to hear you made it without hospitalization ... lol.
One the throttle setup I'm using an old ATV thumb throttle and I TIG'd a cable stop ( nut with a screw and a hole in it ) to the throttle lever. Mine works great and it's simple.
On the gas tank issue ... what kind of stool are you using. I've got the same motor you do and mine fit right under the stool without much issue. Guess maybe I got lucky on the stool ?? Here are some shots of the engine and stool ... I don't have any of the throttle setup. I'll take one today and try and post it for ya.
