i just got the bad boy running and it is super fast at 3/4 throttle and it continues to get faster and then i want to go and hit the brakes and they do O----K, not that great and i getem locked down to the rotor and then they dont want to release? what to do ?
now i'm thinkin i just wasted my money on them and kinda wish i went with the hydraulic ones. does anyone else have this same problem.

I also have that problem, and thought the same thing, so i found a set of hydraulic ones, and they don't stop it any better. At full thottle I can stop in about the distance from my neighbors driveway to mine, which is good enough for me. I just left the mechanical ones back on it, they get the job done. I've never had any problems.

I think there may be a problem with the setup of the brakes. I have run both the mechanical and hydraulic brakes and both worked.
I am not sure what mechanical brake caliper you are using, but you need to put a return spring to push the arm back after you let off the brakes for the mechanical.
With hydraulic brakes, you need to bleed them correctly and you can lock them up at any speed. I run the MCP hydraulic setup and I can lock the rear tires at 40 mph easily.
I did call MCP and they walked me through a few tricks in getting the brakes setup correctly id anyone needs help let me know.
Also, I am using a hand lever with a cable to the master cylinder for the hydraulic setup which people say does not work, but it works great here.
I have attached some photos of both setups I have used.

i used a brake off of a ninja sport bike.. i just made a lever to push the master cylinder in and used a cable to activate it all heres a pic i have of it.. if anyone wants more detailed pics lemme know and ill get them
this setup will lock the rear wheels at any speed as well! which in my opinion is pretty darn fun :) lol

I have the mehcanical brakes setup almost exactly like that, and it will stop the beast, but it takes it 15 feet before its done if your going 35+ mph. I will eventually lock it up but not at top speed, which I think might be good, because the few times it has locked up, the whole stool runs sideways, never does anything, just a rush.

I agree with Vash, I run the MCP hydraulic brakes on mine and when they lock up all the BSR does is slip the back end left and right making it hard to control.
The main reason I used the hydraulic brakes on this build is because I planned on going 60 MPH with it. Other than that, I would go with the mechanical.
