Pretty cool! I like the carrier that you have, good idea.
As for the cost, if you really want to sell them I think you are going to have to make the inexpenisive. I have been trying to figure out how to use all new parts and still keep the price low.
It is the tires and engine that amount to the most and then all the little nickle and dime stuff. I think people are more interested in price than the overall look. People just want a BSR. Unlike us, we build them so we have to go nuts customizing them.

Remember....Anyone really interested in buying a stool should know that there are 3 things that determine the cost....cost of the parts ( varies with the buying power of the builder ) cost of the assembly...and profit margin....and everyone wants to pay less than parts cost alone..in my 2 years or so involved with this I have seen a few "junkyard wars" stools that almost approach the biker theme of "rat bike" to the fiberglass bodied art deco styled...or the Simon Performance Harley powered tire melting stool....anyone questioning th ecost of a built stool should buy th eparts of their choosing and start buildin'...and put it up for sale....

My decision to start building my stool was was made in the wee hours of the morning after surfing the web looking for info on building a three wheeler. I had only seen one BSR before at the local drag strip. After looking around at the ones that were already finished and for sale, I decided that i'd have to build my own. The guy who owns the kart track in Ft. Worth had one for sale for $900. He said that the track mascot at Texas Motor Speedway used to ride it around on race day. It was used and didn't look as cool as the one I built. I found out that all of the parts end up adding up the costs, the ability for the builder who isn't made of money to go out on the web and buy a part here and there helps ease the painful cost of owning a COOL toy. For the guys out there that have the extra cash and a desire to come in from the garage every night without any dirt on their hands.... Go for it!!!! Buy a Pre-fabricated BSR. But, for those of us that truly enjoy the time spent making something with our own hands... A build from the ground up is the only way to go. Some one on here said it best," it's not the destination that's important, but rather the journey or something like that"... Who knows??

Yes you are correct. A build from the ground up is the only way to go! As this sport grows, there are going to be folks that just want one with out having to get dirty making one. It would be nice to to grow this sport so we will need a B.S.R Retail stores everyware, you know like the great Harly Davidson chain.

I have found that most people in this hobbie/sport prefer to build there own. I think it is challenge to people that see one and say cool, "I can build one of thoes."
On the other hand, maybe after seeing the cost for a fully assembled one, then they say "I can build on of thoes for less".
I dunno.. I was not going to pay the retail price when I started wanting a bsr. And besides you get more satisfaction when someone asks you where you got it, and you tell them you built it.

What most people that want to just buy one don't understand is the time and effort that go into making one. Mine has been at the finished but not painted stage for a couple weeks now. Everytime it gets ridden I see something else I need or want to change. The brakes have been totally redone, looking at adding fenders, ect....
I don't want to know what I've spent on this puppy and the time invested is insaine. It's all about having fun.. If someone wanted to buy it from me it would cost them at least double what I have in it because basically they are taking the easy way out and buying your time.

Guys I can build one of our stools in less than 3 hrs. Ive got every tool at my disposal. Ive got a cnc bender, chop saws you name it its there. I can build them very inexpensively compared to most others. There are too many people building them anymore. Same goes for the mini-choppers. You hardly ever get what you have in them. If someone wants one bad enough, you'll get your asking price!! Glenn

Stool-Sample,
I know you have a great source for parts and the equipment, but let's talk price. As you know a lot of the cost is the parts you choose. Can you upload a photos of one that you are talking about and give us some specs and prices on it?
Thanks,
Mike

Woodchuck,
Looks like a very cool ride. Now can you ride a wheelie with it?
I am interested in seeing the finished product. My only disappointment is that you did not use real barstools.
Anyways, it looks like you put some serious time into that frame. What are you going to call that design?

I know from what little schooling i've had that when I pull a quote directly from someone, I should quote that person exactly as they said it. My apologies RUBICON... You were the first to say it to me... And I quote..." Its not the destination....Its tha journey"...LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE ENJOY THE RIDE! A phrase i'll continue to use in only the most deserving circumstances. Thanks :gunsfirin :)
