hey guys, since i had a lot of problems with my barstool im going to build one again but with so much better equipment ( bought a lincoln 225 arc welder) and I recently have access to a milling machine and a lathe. Has anyone made their own hubs? im asking these becouse i have some 9" rims and 20" wheels and if i use the hub that I have I wont be able to make the keystock because the hub is very thin and i would destroy it.
I can get access to any material, i just need to know if anyone has an experience with this =) thnks guys!

Hey elvergon,
I have made my own hubs but nothing like what your talking about. Mine were simple 5/8" front hubs and 1-1/4" rear hubs. I have a summit cnc machine so I just programmed it up and let it cut them. I used t6 billet aluminum and had no problems at all with mine. My biggest problem was finding the bearings I wanted for the front hub but after I got that it was a snap. If you have access to a mill and a lathe I say go for it. It will take you a little time with the manual machines but you will get exactly what you wanted.

Thanks voodoo, I haven´t received my mechanic of materials class so if I don´t know what size of hub to make I won´t do them. However, for my go kart I just ordered a kit of tires, rims and hubs, so after taking the measurements of this ones I will be making my own (If I can win some money over ordering them)
Thanks a lot for the reply anyway ;)
