I just got started on the bsr when I got the plans and metal on oct 14 so I can have a good project for my year long welding class. This Is what I got done in the first class period. I have more done now and will go take some pics and post them let me know what you think.

Here it is with motor mount and motor and and the barstool. I am going to have to shorten the metal above the carb so the barstool will fit better. tomarrow I will finish welding some of the frame and the motor mount on and ginding the welds smooth then start on the front end.

It looks pretty good so far! What size engine are you using? That stool looks pretty sweet. I wanted to get one of those that has the double rung, but opted instead for what I could get from Northern Tool. Then, I ended up making my own. Keep sending in those pics!! :cheers:

The motor is a 5hp craftsman off of one of there snow blowers The thing is huge for being a 5hp.
DOES anyone know if the berings off of a swamp cooler would work for the rear axle??????????????????????

Good Job! What color are you going to paint it. Man that engine is huge. Looks as big as a 10hp motor. Keep building!

well I just got the axle back from the machine shop and it came out great. All i need now is a rear sproket and bearing for the rear axle. The barings I got a those off a swamp cooler they should be in on monday then all I need to do is find a sproket about 72t I think and thats it and hopefally I will be able to ride It very soon. then I will problably pouder coat it either black or there is a crome pouder coat not sure yet here a some new pics.......

Looks good. Are you using hand controls or pedals?

for know till I figure out if everything works good its just going to be suiside throdel since there is only two speeds low and hi and off from the snow blower. prob. after that I will end up with hand controls.
