I've been reading up here on the forums and have decided to make me a bar stool racer, or actually more of a bar stool "runabout". I think I have most everything figured out but I have a question about the wheels I plan on using. I got some 13" x 6", 4 ply knobby tires mounted on solid rims at Harbor Freight. They have 5/8" ID x 1 3/8 OD bearings mounted in the center of the rims which make them a perfect fit for the front. However I was wondering if anyone has a good method of using these with a 1" live axle for the rear wheels? The bearings are pretty easily knocked out which leaves a 1 3/8" open hub.

Any suggetions would be appreciated!

What is the bolt pattern measurement?

Critter', these wheels have solid one piece rims so there is no bolt pattern. Just a 1 3/8" tube running through the rim with bearings pressed in each side that have a 5/8" ID hole.

I think I have figured out what I am going to do. I found some weldable sprocket hubs that are for a 1" axle (keyed) and I talked to a machinist yesterday afternoon that said he could turn the hubs down to fit inside the 1 3/8" hole in the rims. I'll just weld the hubs in the rims and I got my rear wheels ready to go.

Thanks for the info Frozen Bohemian, I'll check that out.

I LOVE the looks of the wide wheels and rims that most of the guys are using but for what I am going to use my BSR for I just don't want to spend the money... thus the Harbor Frieght cheepos.
