hey guys, i just finished my first ever bsr as my final project in my small engines class at school :P i designed it all myself with the shatty material i could get lol. engine is a 8hp briggs that i pulled off a 16 year old concrete mixer and spent 3 weeks on lunchhour pulling apart and completely rebuilding with parts i salvaged off of non running engines around the shop. i couldnt find a clutch with a 1 inch drive so i settled for putting a pulley on the engine and drive shaft and running a belt between them and using a tensioner for stop and go lol. and it doesnt have brakes lol.. we figured out that if we set the idle mixture screw so that the engine dies at idle.. we can then let it die and push the tensioner down and use the engine as a brake.. and the best part is if u have enuf speed still, u can press the gas pedal and the tensioner and it starts right back up again :P. it definitely doesnt look pretty but my autoclass had fun burning up a belt in an hour :P here's a vid of a frend riding it around the back parkinglot with a frend on a bike taping it. on the back stretch notice which smokes worse.. the engine burning the oil.. or the belt where it is attached to the crankshaft :P
