i am debating on whether or not i want to buy one, can someone post some close up pics of the back side of the their torque a verter? like how it mounts to the motor, how it mounts to the frame, how the rear sprocket mates up to it, etc, etc, ... i just cant seem to wrap my head around how it exactly works... like, i know the front pulley mounts to the motor, but do you have to fab up a jackshaft or something for the rear pulley to work? any pics would be appreciated. thanks.

I don't have any pictures of it but there is a mounting plate that bolts to the engine. It has the driven unit already mounted on it so no need for a jackshaft. The driver bolts and keys onto the shaft and pulls the driven unit that has a sprocket on it. The sprocket then transfers power to the rear sprocket which drives the axle. Hope this helps a little bit!

Here is the owners manual for the TAV30

It mounts up nicely on the Honda clone but as stated by others you do have to grind or cut a section of the rear hub framing.

Hey Roadrash,

I have run a TAV2 (I appears that link for the manual is for a TAV2) and I never had to grind anything, just bolt up and go.

The TAV2 design came out for people that needed to mount the engine above the rear axle so the chain could drop down. With a BSR you can use a TAV30 or TAV2. The TAV2 has a nice cast aluminum backing plate where the TAV30 has a steel one. Either one should work fine for you and they are easy to install.

Here's a pic of my TAV-2 mounted up during the mockup stage of my build. Note the clearance between the rear pulley and stool leg/ frame. HTH...
