I am in the process of building one now that we can use at the salt flats next year. All I did was extend the frame and build a platform just above the wheels/sprockets. I am using a 125cc Honda engine from a quad. I wanted the reverse and the 5 speeds not to mention electric start. Right now the frame is just laying in the middle of the bench with junk piled all over it. Too many projects got moved up but this one will be done by spring.<G>
By the way, we live in a small town south of Seattle and on the 4th of July there is a parade. This time I screwed up the courage to ride my barstool in the parade. What a kick!! It wasn't the kids that were waving and cheering me on. It was the adults. Everyone loved it. And believe me, mine isn't pretty, or even painted. If you get a chance, GO FOR IT!!..........Terry

Have you considered purchasing a set of plans from Mike and then take them to your local vocational school? I am sure the welding teacher would love to have a project like that to hold the kids attention. I did that for my grandson and it was his senior shop project. Last day of school the teacher let him make a hot lap around the parking lot.<VBG>

I am thinking of trying something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=190172843840&rd=1

And putting these on the back for my kids

I need a way to take my kids with me around the track. Any input on this?

sdkid we got one and did the wood flatbed and its great. bit of a challange linking chain between axles as there is no adjustment. if we do another we'll put a adjustable idler sprocket in between.

I don't know if it is to late but this is my stool with a wood stake bed. I had to come up with something safe because my kids like to ride my toys with me.
