I haven't tried this brake, but for a few more bucks you can have a disc setup that will outperform any drum. YMMV. :thumb:

so whats the deal with the band on the clutch? did it break? Or is this just a freebie to try?

Its a freebie to try, the band still works ok, Im thinnking it might be wearing out the bushings on the clutch a little early though. since this brake was free I figured id try it out. I'll have ot fab a bracket to mount it so if it works ill post some pics.......

Ive got one of those brakes (or very similar) on my Radio flyer with 3 1/2 HP honda on it . I reckon it stops fine ! After all ,if You are using the BSR on any loose ground ,any brake will only lock up when you hit the stop pedal anyway !
I think the band on the clutch 'drum' is a cool idea ,so is that a standard centrfugal clutch ? Some early clutches had a bronze bearing in them as opposed to a needle roller ...now they wear out REAL quick !!

that brake would work fins. You'll notice a little less braking power if you go through water but other than that it'll work good. I had a little go-kart when I was a kid that had a system like that.

Thanks Aaron, I got it mounted and after the adjustment it lockes up the tires very well. I actually have to be careful to keep from locking them up.
