Who would be interested in 24" axles with just the snap rings on the end? They will have the keyway as well. Ive asked our machine shop to do a few of them up for me, and if theres interest I will add them to the website. The snap rings look so much cleaner than the threaded axles, and big locknuts.

Hello, How much would they run? Also what about a 46" 1 1/4 axle made up the same way with snap rings run?

Snap rings are as strong and look better than the other. I can look on our rack for a 46" but not sure. Were trying to get the odd sizes out! I use the 36" on our racing chassis and we have just accumulated some custom parts that have just been sitting.

Stool-Sample,

Is it really nessesscary to use a snap ring or locking nut on a barstool racer axle?

I cut my axle to length and put on the wheel hubs and have never had a problem with them moving.

Mike, I honestly dont think its needed. They are in racing axles, because they snap rings need to be secured with safety wire.(Its a racing rule) We have just incorporated it on the shorter axles. If you have your hubs secure they shouldnt move. If they would, it will still stay on the axle with the rings.

With as much Karting experience as I have read here I would expect a few more comments explaining that the snap ring is a safety item that would keep a hub from sliding off if the clamping screw loosened...I also would expect kart to see more lateral forces on the hubs than a BSR...only my unprofessional opinion is that the snap ring is not critical on BSR's...and ps: the snap ring holds the hub..the type of wheels ( rim ) don't matter in this
