I saw my first BSR a few weeks ago, and thought MMM.Well it wasn't too long before i ordered Mikes plans (pro street) got them last week, absolutely great.Started to gather some bits and pieces, got the stool,Motor from Harbor Freight 61/2 hp Honda clone, rear axle, pillow blocks, front spindles, and today picked up the 1"x 1"x 1/8 wall tube.I am going to start the frame tomorrow  . As always i want to do something different, has anyone put big wheels and tires on there BSR? I was looking at some at Northern Tool that were more for ATVS or BUGGY'S. I think the tires were 15" in dia for the rear and 12" or so for the front, they were also pretty wide.Do you see any problems doing this? .I will get some pics up with my progress after the weekend.

the bigger the wheels, the more power ur probaby gonna want because that is more mass to spin farther distance- there is prob a big difference between small kart tires and a big dirt tire i believe ur thinkin about-- u can always mess with the sprockets for more torque, but ur top end will be limited

Yes these are addicting!!! Welcome to the Madness...I am designing a new Racer that is going to be built as close to the ground as possible. I am going to use 10" dia. tires on 5" wheels . 30" wheelbase and the frame is going to be 20" wide. Outside width of rear tires is 38". Seat height is going to be @ 24" off the ground . I bought an almost new Honda 5.5hp mounted on a water pump, at a yard sale for $90. With the TAV2 and 40T rear sprocket it should be fast and do great wheelies. The only reason to put bigger tires is then you can go over "Speed Bumps". :cool_dude: Snakester

Top speed is not that great of a concern for me, just looking for options.I found a picture a while back, that i cant find now, that had bigger wheels/tires, and kinda liked the look.I think everyone has questions on wheels and tires, its one of the biggest decisions in building one of these.I will not be welding the rear axle position, till i have decided what i am using. Most of the time this will be ran around the yard , and up to the neighbors for a beer and such:cheers: Got all the material cut, and now lunch is over, time to get it tacked together:thumb: .
