Here is a work in progress BSR I am working on. I tried to attach photos, but I am not having any luck doing so. I tried reducing them and posting.....still no luck. I tried doing them in Paint, no luck. Any suggestions?

Chassis: 1 1/4"x.065 ERW tubing TIG welded
Rear Axle: 1 1/4" tubular aluminum w/ Fafner brgs.
Brakes: Hyd. w/ 7" rotor, 4 piston caliper
Front Axle: 8 degree caster built in, 10 degree spindles

Motor: 6.5hp Briggs Intek OHV w/flathead stroker crank, billet rod, Dyno 308 cam, Vanguard lifters, double valve springs, Flathead valves cut to length, .140 over piston, block decked, head cut .030, titanium pushrods, Double pumper tilly carb w/ ETB intake manifold, billet aluminum flywheel(2.5lb) Hendrix header w/RLV muffler.
This motor runs on methanol and idles like a Top Fueler and revs like a Sprint car. This is totally unusable horsepower, and possibly lethal to rider. But, Hey.....I'll give it a shot! I'll post more pics as I progress more and learn how to add pics.

BM1, I have attached the photos you sent me to this post...

Go to www.resize2mail.com (http://www.resize2mail.com) and resize them that way. You will still have to host them somewhere, but thats the easiest way to resize them.

Monkey-1, you do not need to host the photos if you add them as an attachment to the message you are posting. If you attach them, the forum will download them from your computer and store them here in the system.

Mike,

Thanks for the picture post. I guess I need to figure that out, cause I have some pretty neat stuff I'm working on I'd like to share.

BM1,

Nice work so far on your BSR. From the pic's, I'm more jealous of your shop the your stool, no offense. Is that your home shop or work shop?? I can see a lot a cool items ( bender, break, etc).

That's my "toy" shop.(40x64) If you noticed in the 3rd picture, my winged pavement sprint car(another toy). I can do just about everything I need to do there. I have 2 Hossfeld benders, MIG, TIG, Plasma cutter, and I have a lot of tools for metal forming: 10ft brake, 6ft pan brake, 6ft shear, english wheel, notchers, tracer punches. As I said in an earlier post, I am a tool junkie. I started forming the aluminum for the wheel pants on an "art deco" stool I'm going to build. I've got it drawn up, maybe I can get Mike to post the pics of the drawings. Kind of looks like something Arlen Ness would build. Thanks for the compliments.

Ditto on the nice shop...I see from your last pic that you are doing a wide wheelbase,,,,let us know how it handles....as well as your experience with caster values....I just revised mine to 15 degrees and the difference was well worth it...THANKS

Right now I have 8 degrees built in, but last night I was thinking about cutting off the saddles and adding adjustable caster saddles. I think the wide wheel base might make it a little hard to turn, push wise. I think if I add more caster, it will unload the inside rear enough to turn a lot better. Hey....that's why they make welders. Most of my race cars have had no paint on them, and when they would ask me why, I'd just say, "I'm not done cutting it up yet."

BM1, go ahead and some me some more photos, I don't mind helping out.

I have to admit, when I first looked at your photos, I was jealous of your shop and then I noticed the awesome BSR you are working on.

Nice job with the shop (#1) and the BSR (#2)... :D

BM1,

What method of welding are you using to weld the tubing on your BSR frame? Are you using the tack weld method you mentioned before or another?

And can you send me or upload some close up photos of your welds?

Thanks,
Mike Bean

Mike,
Actually, I am using both. I am TIG welding and MIG welding. The spots where I can't get my TIG torch in, I've been using my MIG. I will take some photos and send them off to you showing both welds. TIG, "tack" and MIG. I don't know why I can't figure out how to "shrink" my pics to post here, but I'll work on it. In the meantime, I'll e-mail them to you.

hey you guys I found this site that host pics. www.tinypic.com You just click browse and find the pic on your pc and click on it. You will see the pic address in the window beside the browse button. Then click Host Picture and wait. It may take some time to resize a big photo. But when it is done you will see it at the bottom and it will read *Successfully Hosted! Under that you will see 4 windows that read Link,Tag,Img and url. And below that you will see email me this link. I have it e mailed to me so i don't lose it. Now you can copy and paste the img text to your message when your done typing. Like this.
