Yep, that was VERY difficult for me also. I was able to get them seated by using a ratchet type cargo strap and rope around the center of the tire. Sinch it down as much as you can, this will cause the beads to expand a little towards the rims...
Make sure you remove the valve stem valve... (you know, the inside of the valve stem) Use a blower nozzel on your air hose, one that will fit snug on the valve stem, NOT the tire chuck...
OK, now you just need 2 more arms and another hand to hold everything in place, and give that air compress hell... also make sure you use plenty of tire lube, (GUGYDE, or tire snot)
Just keep at it, hopfully you can get the bead to snap by the fist 12 pack...
Good luck

I was concerned about tire stretch, as with most things, I research and overanalyze everything. Anyway, I was not paying 60-70 bucks for a tire band. So I made one. Some Alum sheet as wide as the tires are tall plus 2", and enough length to wrap the circumference of the tire, plust some. I riveted one piece of angle to the alum. wrapped the alum around the tire, and put another piece of angle on about 3" apart. Then got two bolts to pull the angles together. I had some material, so mine was free, but would guess to buy would be about 10-15 bucks.
I tried to fill it without this, and the tire was really swelling before it was seating. After the tire band, some dawn dishsoap, and pop-pop! As an afterthought, all the dawn that had run down on the wheels and tires let me wash everything with soap on hand.

Thanks. I will give making a band a try. I didn't want to pay for the band either. I wnet researching on the net, and the information I found spooked me a bit. The warnings were for the tire exploding and making a mess out of your body or face.

I have also read were people used a leather belt or tie strap. You can get tie straps for cheap at Harbor Freight.
I never had to use one when I mounted mine, but if you are having a lot of problems it is better to be safe than sorry and use some kind of band to contain the center of the tires from exploding.

Here's one way to do it, but a ratchet strap works even better!

I was able to get it done. I used a heat gun on the side walls to soften them up, attached a ratchet strap around the center, removed the valve core, and soaped up both sides of the tire and rim. After that, they popped right on. Then I put the core back in and filled the tires.
Thanks for the advice guys.......

Cheap Secret to mounting tires...I have been mounting tires for 40 years! I have used everything from leather belts to high $ Mounting Bands. I have a 15" piece of 13" I.D. PVC Water Pipe. It works great on 10"-12" Tires. I use 15" pieces of 3/4" pipe for shims on small tires and 1/2 " pipe for shims on 11.5-12" tires. I have put tires in hot water to soften them a little.I always use soapy water to help them seal. A friend of mine built a 2'x2' wood box and set a 5 gal. Sheetrock Mud bucket in the middle and poured Concrete around it ...it does work great but it is not portable. Get you a piece of pipe , it will make mounting tires very EZ.:lush: Snakester:lush:

I read all the great posts, did it tonight. I wrapped a cargo strap around the tire to protect the surface and duct taped it there. I used two ratchet straps around the tire. Used a hair dryer to warm up the sidewalls. the tires need to be house warm ambient, not garage cold. Used plenty of dish soap, POP! The goal is to limit the tire growing in diameter and let the beads push out to the rims. When the beads popped, splattered soap on the hallway wall. Pumping air, compressor started up, scared the heck out of me. These wide tires are the only ones that are difficult. I have mounted plenty of smaller size kart tires. My Flexible Flyer wagon also has kart tires and rims. Nascar track thing. Thanks for all the great posts. Race Ratz:cheers:
