Well I finally got my fuel tank from Brand "X". Nothin to write home about but it will do. I didn't really think it would ever show so I went back to plan "B". That was the mini-keg. I did have to open up the top a bit to get the gas cartridge out and remove the adheasive. It really only took a few minutes. I then rinsed the inside with acetone and a scotchbrite pad. I bought a steel bung and chrome gas cap a while back. Frankly I was going to pop rivet the bung over the hole on the top and use some J-B weld as well. Same treatment for the outlet although silver soldering would be the way to go. I still think they can be a hazard but for just a cruiser O.K. My BSR is finished as of yesterday so I hope to post pix soon. Maybe from the car show next weekend. Thanks again guys!:cool_dude:

I have done the same thing, only I cut the top out of an old gas tank off a briggs or some little eng. and tig welded it to the top of the little keg, then welded a bung to the bottom of the tank, it came out perfect.
