Posted in the "Anyone build an electric?" thread, then seen some questions.
Not wanting to hijack the thread here's the details on mine.
San Diego Mini Motorsports (http://www.sdminimotorsports.com) is my shop. Being a service center, warranty repair center we end up with a pretty good supply of boneyard parts.
I witnessed some of the real insane creations of Barstool Racing and although being a speed junkie like nearly everyone here, I wanted something that I could let the kids and wife ride without fear of any mishap.
Using the electronics, and steering stem/bars from a BladeZ scooter

My building skills (ok, I'll admit it.... I'm a hack) are fair, but no rocket science for sure.

A little welding, some fabricating, and presto. Ready to roll
Ok, not quite that easy, but not bad really. Its light, and the barstool actually comes off for some easy transporting, and TRUNK capability.
