So I came into this barstool already made a few years ago and I love it. I wasnt to "fix it up" and get more out of it as well as customizing it. It is a "Barfly" I guess they were the manufacturers of it but I cant seem to find anything about them. It has a Robin 4.5hp engine, manual brakes, a steering wheel not handlebars. It also has what I think is a slipper clutch. It is chain drivin and does not have a belt like the torque converters. I have searched the forums to see if I could find out any information on how I could adjust the clutch to get it to engage faster and harder. I also want to know how to take the governor off, I cant seem to figure it out. Im not dumb, I am quite mechanically inclined i like to think but I am not at this point a fabricator. (I picked up a MIG welder but have yet to learn how to use it lol.) If anyone could help me with these topics I would greatly appreciate it. Here's a pic of it

I just ran out and looked at it and it just says "Comet Industries"
Anyone knowledgeable on the robin motors?

check out comet's web site or most dealers. you should be able to find different springs and shoes for your clutch that will enable the clutch to engage faster and harder

it might also just be that the engine is not that powerful. It's a stock robin 4.5 and I'm 190 lbs

have you considered switching to a torque converter they say they are tough to beat.

I would try new springs and shoes. Good luck
