I would just buy a mechanical brake setup from barstoolracersupply.com or you can find similar setups on ebay.. BMI karts is always a good option too

I bought a complete 2 piston brake set-up on e-bay for like 29.95, had to make my own brakets but they work great. they came complete with master cylinder, braided hose, disc, dual piston caliper. it was well worth the money as far as I am concerned. Hope this helps. The sellers name is
rose326a check out his store, he still has some I think.

So is the top portion of the master the reservior. How does it hold fluid? What type of fluid?
Its a hell of a price. Pretty much a savings of $100 bucks.:thumb:

The part that Gregad has the lever attached to is the master and holds the fluid. uses regular DOT type fluid. rose326 also has a single piston setup that uses a handlebar mounted lever with master cylinder with a parking brake!!!!!!!! I am using one on my current build and it works even better than the other, plus it even has a brake lite switch in it (sweet)!!!! Just can't beat his prices !!!!!!!! :thumb:

Ya Chris, Like old kid said. I used DOT3 fluid as local cycle Mechanic advised me of. The only road block is mounting the rotor. These are non standard size for the carting world. I am using a 1.25" axle and foound a chain sprocket hub at local Johnny Deere dealer. It fit hole in rotor perfectly and bought a chain sprcket. Welded the sprocket to hub on back side only leaving a lip for rotor to rest on, turned the teeth off and drilled for rotor. It is a little heavy but perfect fit.
Cam ebay under "pit bike brake" also. Here is one Ebay #370184151111

Chris, The rotors are 7-1/2" The hubI made up were universal gear hubs from John Deere dealer. They come in different shaft sizes. The gears also come in different sizes. They are used for replacement gears on impliments. I don't have any numbers for them.

The rotors are 7.5 inches. The sprocket hub are generic impliment hubs from John Deere and the gears are matched to the hubs and welded on.
