Hey there;
I went to Wal Mart today to get my wireless speed meter. All they had was the $19.00 version, so I bought it anyway. As you guys ststed, the installation was very easy. I drilled a small hole in the web of the front spindle and ran my tie straps thru it to hold the sensor. I then JB welded a small thin gage bracket to the inside of the wheel for the magnet to mount to. Perfect! It is right where the instructions say it sould be 1/8" from each other durring rotation. The last step was to change the settings in the computer. I had to measure the dia of the tire in MM and input that into the computer for the wheel Dia. No sweat! I have to wait until tomorrow to see how fast it really goes.

It will be like truth syrum. Back when I raced Drag Boats, we thought they went alot faster than they actually did. The radar gun took the wind out of a lot of sails. Folks that had boats that went 100mph really only went 65mph. I expect the same here. Although, with the engine being modified as much as it is, we might be surprised too. I'll let you know tonight when I take it for a blast.

So I went out and rode last night. At first I thought the meter was off by a mile, so I attached my GPS to the handlebars as well to compair the two. Dead nuts. Both mirrored each other thru the acceleration process. So here is is, top speed of 31.4mph. This is a highly modified 6.5 engine;
NR Racing Stage 2 Kit
Header
Tav-2
40 tooth rear sprocket
So it makes plenty of power. It sure feels like 50mph! I guess 31 is still not to shabby 3 feet from the ground.

This sounds like something I should try also although with my six speed two stroke 35hp motor on mine I doubt I will ever get it to full tilt. would still be nice to see how fast I get to. I should have my new jug back soon and be ready to start with a fresh motor........... I can't wait for spring to get here.
