OK I'm to the point of ordering Aluminum Diamond plate for the floor of my BSR.
I can't figure out the thickness by the numbers given.
.125
.050
.063
.045
.024
What does this mean? :dizzy:
How thick are they in inches? 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32..... etc?
Does anyone have a conversion table?

well, it pretty easy. .125 is 1/8, .063 is 1/16. I have never seen diamond plate thinner than .063

I used .063 for my floor, thats the most commonly used. You can get it cut to your specs from http://www.cutsmetal.com if you only need a small piece.

.125 = thousands of an inch
.050 = thousands of an inch

Divide the bottom number into the top number.
1 * 4 = 0.250
1 * 8 = 0.125

Sure. Take 1/8", devide 1 by 8 and it will equal 0.125.
Or, Take 3/16", devide 3 by 16 and it will equal 0.1675.
Just ask for a pocket caculator that will do this conversion both ways. $8.95 at Sears. Gotta remember that sheet metal is measured in tenths of an inch. Goes like this; If 1.0 equals 1 inch
than 0.5 equals 1/2"
and 0.250 equals 1/4"
and 0.125 equals 1/8"
and 0.0625 equals 1/16" and so on. Below 1/16" is not practal so purchase your self a cheap calaper that measures in inches on one side and metric on the other and when you need to convert to fractions just hold the calaper up against a tape measure. HTH.............Terry
