so this is going to be my first bsr but im going to make one about 4-5 ft long and its going to be used to push a sprint car around the pits so i have to find a way to stack 3 tires and put a jack on and a spot for tools
Or should i just build a trailer for it?
i was thinking about putting a xr 80 or xr100 what do you think?
just need some ideas
thanks

Sounds like an awesome idea. I'm not real familiar with those engines, are they 2 stroke? Seems to me that if you're pushing (or pulling) something heavy like that, you're gonna want a motor that has a lot of low end torque. And maybe an auto clutch too so you don't burn it up.
As for pushing, it would probably be easier to build a trailer. You could even just build a frame, and attach your tool chest to it, like has been done with this cooler....http://barflyracers.com/showthread.php?t=2850&highlight=trailer.... Here is another idea for the "hitch" that I really liked too....http://barflyracers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2850&d=1254103328.
I thought about it, and if you plan to make it that long, you could also consider pulling your sprint car too. Just make a drop down "drag" bar (or hook) and you could use it like a jet mover thing... I'm sure that they have a specific name, but I don't know what it is....Then you could shove your tool chest on the front for a little counter balance to keep the front end on the ground.
Hope that helped a little. Be sure to post some pics.

Personally if you were going to build one to pull your sprint I think you would be better off trying to pull it then push it. For one the sheer physics of it make it easier, it is always easiers to pull something than it is to push it. As for your choice of motors, it can be done, check out my build http://barflyracers.com/showthread.php?p=15162 . I built mine with a YZ125. Those motors you picked out are ok unless you are a bigger guy like me, (6'4" 310), they will move you very well but trying to move your sprint will definetly be a load on a manual clutch. Mine gets around just fine (probably much faster than most and by far more dangerous) but, You would probably be better using something like an 8-10 HP Briggs motor with a TAV. I don't think I would build mine at 4-5 ft long either just, build a trailer like dueces said. As for getting it to maneuver when pulling your sprint, I would just build the stool maybe a foot at most longer and postion everything as far forward as comfortable. That extra foot will make a big difference in the leverage for the front end and help you out a lot for getting it to take off pulling. Mine is built 2 or 4" longer than my friends with a lot more motor, and I can keep the front down much better than he can. Also you will still maintain the compactness of a BSR, everything will be easier to transport, and it will be much more fun to drive when you are not working it, not to mention unless you put a diff on the back axle, having it that long it won't turn worth a crap. Hope this helps!!!
