I just bought my third set of rims and I am having a hard time finding hubs to fit. First problem, I have a 1" step down to 3/4" live axle and most hubs don't, and the ones that do step down don't have the three bolt patern the rims have, second problem is the hubs with the three bolt pattern seem to work for the front:cheers: but are 1/8" off. do i just have crappy rims or is one metric and the other standard? please help

There are at least three different sizes of hub that I have found.
Metric, American Standard and CRG.
Firstly measure between the studs on the hub, from center of stud to center of hub.
American standard is 3/57, 3 studs 57mm (2 3/16") center to center. This is the most common pattern and is used on most karts manufactured in the US.
Nearly all 6" rims will be 3/57 stud pattern, however 5" rims can be a mixture of all three 3/57, 3/58 and 3/68.
To multiply the problem hubs come with two different sized studs 1/4" and 5/16".
When buying used hubs and/or rims on Ebay, Amazon and Craigslist you need to ask the seller what stud pattern they are selling.
To your problem with the rear axle, you may have to get some machining done to get standard hubs to fit your axle or machine the hub to match the rims.

Thanks for the previous help, it answered alot of problems. Now for new problems, I have a 1" live axle and metric bolt pattern rims. Do they make a 1" hub with a metric bolt pattern??? (now i am finally getting to the bottom of everything) :lush: :thumb:

There are two things you can do here.
I haven't found a metric hub for a 1" axle as most metric hubs fit 30mm, 40mm and 50mm axles.
You would have to buy 50mm hubs, machine sleeves to fit a 1" axle. This would be too expensive.
The easiest thing to do would be to sell the metric rims and buy a set that fit your hubs.
