I believe the member building the dual wheel barstool racer got his wing off ebay.

Yeah, But that thing is pretty wide.

If you find one that is too wide, you could alway chop out a section and weld it back together...

Or you could try you local BSR wing supplier.

you can just type in spoiler into ebay and it comes up with car spoilers for a price around 50 dollars. just chop it down and bolt it on.

They are riveted same as an aircraft wing. Drill out the old rivets, cut off to the length you want and rivet the end back on. HTH...........Terry

I will look into that, just don't want to mangle the wing up tearing it apart.

Yes, like that one, but Im sure you made that yourself.
I am headed back out to sea ( NAVY ) in a couple weeks, so I know Im running short on time, to get much done.
One thing about going out to sea, lots of time to think, draw, plan etc..
Out on the ship, a day is about a week long, at least it feels like it.

Did you build that or cut one down.

Everything that was fabricated was by myself..frame, suspension, diff stuff, tank, wing, nitrous, shifter, etc....The Muzzy is real ...carbon fiber and stainless with a stainless header pipe...it is a sportbike unit cut down in length with a custom megaphone tip ( I found a stainless bathroom cup and tigged it on the end...at idle it has an interesting deep throated put..t..put...almost as if it had some cam going on....or as they used to say when I was a kid " It's got a lick to it " . The wing is a slice of 6" dia. aluminum pipe with ends and brackets hand fabricated and polished...THANKS

Hello, I got one off ebay for my dual wheel bsr, Its a lundi and its 48 inchs wide. I am using the whole thing (Not Cutting Down). Looking at mine it would not be hard to cut down to any wideth. Cut both ends off to get wideth and leave some tabs to bend over and put ss screws in the side plates to attach back! I paid 42.00 including shipping for mine! Good Luck! Post pictures and keep up the good work!:hot:

48" is still to wide for what I want, I might try and make something, got to do some brain storming first.

Just an idea but I am trying to design my own wing that doubles as a fuel cell. Excuse the metric but my engine only comes with a 1.3L tank. I'm thinking if it holds a L that would be good. Biggest problem I'm having is how to put a decent lokking fill point on it.

Take a look at this one at the bottom of the page.

May I sugest that you up the size to 2 L. so you won't need to fill it all the way to the top. HTH...........Terry

Thanks Terry, those are a great idea

I was trying to keep the volume as low as possible to try to avoid it looking to much like a fuel tank and more like a wing. But so far the drawings I have come up with aren't something I want to put on my stool. But I'll keep drawing.

Just an idea but I am trying to design my own wing that doubles as a fuel cell.

Some where around here I have some books from the Experimental Aircraft Association on how to build a wing. Essentially speaking they took two pieces of 3/4" cut out to the shape desired, rounded the edges, clamped a piece of dead soft 2024 aluminum in between and bent over the edges with a soft hammer. I used this method to fabricate a rib for a T-Craft and it worked quite well. Expensive part was having the 2024 hardened. Doubt that would be necessary for your application.
You can try here http://www.eaa.org/ I don't think you need to be a member to purchase the books. Or you might try the public libarary. If all else fails let me know and I will run off a copy of that page and send it to you. That is if I can find it!!
HTH.........Terry

Thanks for the link terry. Don't know why but the thought of haveing a functional style of wing wasn't what I was thinking. My brain was stuck on a pie shape. Gezz I can get a bad case of tunnel vision about some things. Ya that will look good. A little time and effort into shapeing it and away I go.
