How do I get started?

I've been browsing the forums so far and I haven't quite figured out how to get started. I've been seeing some fantastic photographs, but I'm really, really confused. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get started? I need help brainstorming because, heck, I don't even know what TYPE of vehicle I'd like (something fast, smooth, slow, etc, etc). well, do you know how to weld or have access to a welder? you can buy the plans here or on ebay. i just saw a pic on the internet and guessed at everything on mine. you can make it out of pipe or square tube, but i think square would be easier. or, if you look around, you can buy frame already done and finish putting it together, or there are also plenty of complete ones for sale . i guess what i am saying is, what kind of skills do you have and how much can you do yourself.
