I'm, almost a bit embarrased to post these, after seeing some of the very nice bsrs here, but oh well, here goes:
Started with my frame like this, kinda planning on using monkey1's design a bit

The motor is a bit offset, it's an 8horse Tecemseh from a snowblower. The 1" shaft won't allow the Comet clutch to be run with the chain inside, and I've seen too many "mini-bike scars" growing up, lol. I may end up taking 2" off the bottom of the stool legs, the ring is inside as I've seen from another builder here.

Had a local machine shop lop off a few inches of crank, drill and tap the end, I rebuilt the carb myself with a kit from 'captain-never-sails' on eBay

was about here I decided I didn't want the steering column tied into the seat, so I went added some Bean in the design

So I guess you've seen the skinny 10" tall pneumatic hand truck tires I'm using. They were over $36 each. Kart tireas/wheels are cheap, but shipping to Alaska kills me, for something to fart around on. I have 10t clutch, 40t sprocket, gives a 4-1 ratio which the kartcalc sez will give 28mph at a governed 3800rpm. I did not cut the front axle at 45deg, so we'll se how that goes, but tonite I tacked the spindles at 20deg caster, used the angle thingie for 90deg up and down. built the column last nite, so I'll upload some new pics soon.

The common thread is a seatpad, engine, frame and wheels...everything is secondary....If you look at the definition of EGO.....these creations are a reflection of the builder....resourcefullness is valued higher than ability to purchase.....creativity is more interisting than copying....being at least a little different is great...it broadens the imagination of those interested enough to notice....it would be interesting to see a survey of builders that shows how many started from scratch ( so to speak)...how many had plans and a bill of material...how many were critical of a design that they later adopted themselves...and what the extent of evolution we went through in redesign to make it more unique...or work better for our taste....for me...the design and fabrication is a neverending process...thats the value for me....I have a wagon that has a following of interested attendees at local car shows and flea markets ( Charlotte Motor Speedway ) that expect to see me every Spring and Fall...and I always have a new modification to display...this year my wagon ( shown somewhere on another thread) has a fully working 5-link rear and billet dropped front axle with aluminum coilover shocks ( 4" ) all around, XM radio and more....and next year the coilovers come off and air shocks, compressor and remote control will make it a lowrider and hop.....Barstools are just one form of expression....Rubicon says!

made a bracket to mount the tank, using the same bolt holes, but above the motor instead of beside it.
