Does anyone know where to get a round stainless steel fuel tank similar to Rubicons, I know he made his out of aluminum but I don't want to spend the money for one. Hey Rubicon, would you consider fabbing another one for the cost of parts and then some? Designed changed again, after seeing Rubicons I am going with an atc motor/trans set up, hope you don't mind Rubicon, was really impressed with yours.

right now I am concentrating on getting all the major parts, had everything drawn up but then changed direction. The keg is excatly what I want, but need to wait a bit, the wife has spoken and said no more till after christmas. The link you sent, have you ordered from them before? Are they pretty decent to deal with, there prices are pretty good. On the rear axle, it's a toss up between axle hangers and pillow blocks. I've fout that the bearing hangers can flex. I would like to minimize any rebuilding if I can help it. Also on your sight, are you selling rims, if so how much for a decent set, my tires 4.5/10-5 and 7.1/11-5.

several points:
1. The link to the mini-keg...ask if the keg is stainless like it appears to be...for some reason I think it "may" be tin plated carbon steel...just curious..with time and a lot less $ I can fab an aluminum one..not a promise yet
2. If you get the correct bearing hangers ( Dixie Karting ) they have a C shaped channel on the ends that make them rigid ..a couple of $ each...and they will not flex. They are commercial competition kart components not "fun kart" parts....

Thanks Rubicon, I'll check them out. Let me know about the tank, this is going to be a loooooong build so time isn't that important.

I am not positive...but if you will look at this site..http://www.midwestsupplies.com/products/ProdByCat.aspx?Cat=100 you will find mini-kegs for $8.95 plus shipping....I would think you could get a capand bung silver soldered on for less that $91....plus it really looks like stainless but is "treated tin plate" lined with a varnish...like a soup can man...looks really cool...but is not stainless...just a big soup can....no harm meant..no bashing....I looked at a lot of sites when I wanted one real bad and finally concluded where the source was and what they were made of...I was concerned that the finish would dull over time and polish would remove the tin plate...I even found a few real Moon tanks on e-bay less than $100 but were a little more rough than I wanted...I looked until I decided to fab a couple of aluminum ones....my appreciation of the keg look comes from having a 23 "T" roadster with a brand new Stainless beer keg for a gas tank...cool look...
