A thought on cutting metal that I was wandering if anyone has tried. I have an older compound miter saw, kids bought me a new one a couple years ago, but my thought is to mount a metal cutting blaid in it. Might kill the saw from the metal dust, but it may ork long enough to get prodject done. Motor is big enough to handle it. Any thoughts?

It's cool to put a metal cotting blade on your chop saw. I did it, and didn't have any problems. I got my hands on a small handheld band saw and found it to make much cleaner cuts and I didn't have to bother with all of the dust and flying debris from the abraisive saw blade disintigrating as it does. :hot:

I'm going to try the metal cutting blade on the miter saw, the only other options I have is a hacksaw (arms hurt even thinking about it) or my tried and true method of a cut off wheel in a die grinder. Hopefully by the end of tis week I will have a doner veh. for the motor/trans set up and then I can finish the rework on frame. Got a question about spacing though. What is everyone setting the distance from the steering shaft to the stool. I've come up with 9-10 inches at base, just feel that it's going to come out to close. Wheel base is going to be 29"
