Nice! Are you running a 1" ora 1-1/4" axle? What engine are you going to use? Keep building!:smash:

The axle is a 1". I have a 2hp brigs and a 5.5 HP honda clone. I have to do some work to get the 5.5 to fit under the stool, I'll probably start off with the 2 and after I get used to driving it swap to the larger engine. I can't fall off this thing at any speed, too old to break any more bones!

Looks great, I agree with woodchuck, if you put the 2 hp on it, it won't be long before you swap out to 5.5. Keep sending pics!

looks great , you know the 2hp wont do.
Just FYI
i have a 6.5 honda clone in mine, its real tite, but fit my chassis ( which is different from yours ) and stool frame with no mods and will slide for and aft to adjust chain. I had 2 stools at the start, one would clear, the other would not.
there are several models, some are taller before they make the first bend to tuck into the hoop,I think the taller style will work with your honda.
there are some pics of mine somewhere on this site if that will help.

My stool will not fit the bigger engine (See attached). I need to find a different one before I weld the mounts on. Anybody have a link for a resonably priced stool?
Thanks!

What about relocating the gas tank, take the gas tank off of the motor and mount a tank to the back of the stool. That will give you the clearance you need under the stool.

I want to be able to remove the stool and steering to place the stool in my truck with the camper shell on. I may have to but am looking for other options first....

How wide are the legs inner diameter?
They are about 15" outside to outside. They are 1" od. They taper in too soon, I think that is the problem.:dizzy:

What gearing are you using?

I have a 40 tooth driven spocket, I have not yet bought a clutch for the 5.5 hp. The 2 hp I think has a 10 or 12 tooth clutch (I'm at work)....

Go with the twelve. More top end will allow for more speed. In my opinion even with a gear ratio like that I think 2hp is too small. It may be easy to fit but you will be much happier with the 6.5 hp and a gear ratio like that, I think you will be right around 45mph top speed. JMO.:hot:

On mine I put a small shut off valve on the fuel line from the tank to the carb for when I have to pull the stool off. I really don't think that 2 horse is going to have the power to do anything with. Also on your gearing, and this is just my opinion, I would run a larger sprocket on the axle then a 40 tooth. Your going to need alot of power to get it rolling with that gearing. Again, that's just my opinion.

Run something like a 12 on the engine gear and a 60 on the rear. This gearing is right in the middle of speed and torque.

I scatch built the header pipe from bits and peices of generator exhaust.
the aluminum muffler came from e-bay, it was advertised as a performance expansion chamber for a 2 stroke jet ski. It took a little polishing and i made a slip in baffle similar to a motocycle baffle. sounds real good, louder than stock by far, but not obnoxious.
I am running 12t frt, and 75 t rr. real peppy on the bottom end, I have bypassed the govenor, so it pulls on up to a good speed.
I dont know exactly top end, but every one that has rode it says its fast enough.

That would be a big bottle of Bud light! The Miller (Beers in waiting, the shop fridge is full) is under the table saw in the other picture! It will probably run off a real premium beer such as a Fat Tire or Blue Moon!

TQM,
We just got in some of the mechanical brake caliper return springs. Can you post a photo of your brake setup ex. were the cable is held and the arm on the brake caliper?
The springs I have are 3 1/8" long and you place it in between the brake arm and cable holder. If you want a spring PM me and I can get one out to you.
Take a look at the photo below to see how I setup the brake on mine...
