Anybody know where I can mail order some 7/8" OD steel tubing. All the controls I want to use are made to put on a 7/8" handle bar, also I think I should use 7/8 for the upright because it will be stiffer than the 3/4".
Any suggestion would be greatly apperciated

I don't know why you want to mail order it. With shipping it is going to be just as much as your local metal supply. Do a Yahoo yellow pages search for a metal supplier. One big company name is Metal Supermarkets. They have pretty good pricing.

We carry it in our shop. Or do like the others said. I would prefer not to pay shipping if I can get it locally!

Searching for ideas I come across this post. I can confirm the 1/2 black pipe from Lowes/Home Depot is very close to 7/8 OD. And yes, it will work in the STEERING SHAFT ADPT. SPLINDED TO 7/8" HANDLE BARS from minichoppersocal. :thumb: 1/2" Black gas pipe has a 7/8 OD and you can get it from home depot.

Many decent size scrap metal yards carry a good selection of tubiing sizes and gauges. They might also carry stainless or alumimium

Try Summit Racing. They list metal in their catalog. 4 and 8 ft lengths.

unless you are looking to build your own design, you could also use bicycle handlebars. you can usually find a scrap bike somewhere. thats what i used on one i built for a friend.
