I think one might need more than that if they intend on pulling trees down or maybe entering a tractor pull.

I bet your going to have fun keeping the front end on the ground. :) I let a friend of my wife try mine out (I have a Tech 6.5) and the first thing he did was jack the front end up all the way and almost fell over.. Too funny...

I would go with the smallest rear sprocket you can find for that motor. I went from a 54T to a 41T for my 6.5hp and I enjoy the extra speed, just a little less pickup, no biggie still pulls wheelies all day long.

Yikes... not 100% sure, but I'm using either a 63 or 61T sprocket for #35 chain.

I'm having to get the crank turned down to 3/4" from 1"... I can't find a clutch that will install in either inboard/outboard configurations.

I don't think you are going to be happy with the with the high number of teeth on the sprocket. You can get down to a 41T with a #41 chain. I don't think you can get that low with a #35 chain.

I can wait to see some videos of your BSR when you finished SupraLuda. Do you have a date of completation in mind yet?

I had a 71T on my BSR and found that it was bigger than my tires. So i founda set off new52, 53, 54, 55, 56 and put the 52 onit. And works great . And i'm using a # 35 chain. But i think 52 may be as low as you can go with a#35. Igot them off e bay for 10.00 + shipping. Still looking for the cops to show up. LOL. Anyway I just sold the 71T on e bay for 10.00 + shipping.I may keep the others to go on my Radio Flyer and I'mthinking of a adult Big Wheel also.Hey keep checking e bay for great deals. I know i have saved around 300.00 getting my BSR items on ebay. Keyword is go cart.Hey mike come upwith any idea on paperabout the logo yet?

Dont mean to but in on you guys. But what kind of speeds are you running ( how have you checked it?) I am running #35 chainwith a 72 rear sprocket. I had good low end , enough for a smallwheelie and would run 27mph on GPS.I wanted to be able to pull betterwheelies so I got a 80. ( dont know if it will work it is only about 3/8" smaller than the tire.)

Those sprokets in the 50's seem like you wouldnt have any torqe. But man the top end speed must be hellacios!!!Are you running a torq-a-verter or clutch.

27mph with what size engine?

For comparison, a kart powered bya 9hp Hondawith a 63T sprocket/#35 chain will do about 60-70mph on a straight away.

I'm only running a 7hp, but expect to at least double the speed your running at. With the weight difference (kart vs. my BSR), 50 to 55mph should be an easy milestone.

I have a 5.5 over head valve B.S. Just a cheap Yard cart centrifical clutch. I dont know haw many teeth the clutch has I guess about 12 to 13. There is no governer on the motor but it is stock. Rear tire is a 11 or 11.5 dia. And rear sprocketis 72 teeth. Just over 27 is the fatsest it has run onGPS. I just got a 80 and a 64 tooth rear to try out. Like I said it has lots of bottom end power. I was wondering what clutch you use and how much bottom end power you have with the smaller sprockets like you run. I dont doubt you could easily get one of these in the 60's with the right gearing. I am building a new BSR right now and want to make it a slow wheelie machine. Here is a pic of my first stool.

Or just make the barstool a little taller :D

if you liked the speed on the 72 ;)
