I am rounding all of the parts up for my barstool racer, and i have bought some plans from Mike, and i just don't don't know of what size wheels and tires to put on it. Pretty much the rest of it i can figure oout, except that. my friend knows of a pipebender tht we can use, and i think i am gonna build my barstool from scratch, so that it isn't so dang top heave. Do you think that would be necessary, or do you think i would be alright buying a barstool from harborfreight?

Hey Younggun,

Don't worry about being too top heavy. My BSR I can run wide open down the street and around the corner.

I have had other people ride it and they were surprised at how easy it rode and was not top heavy at all.

I mean it does take some common sense when riding these things, but if you are concerned about it tipping over easily don't be. It takes some effort to get it up on two wheels when turning and if you looking to slide around street corners at wide open throttle, I don't think a custom made barstool is going to stop you from flipping.

I have ridden many types of ATV cycles, snowmobiles etc. All you need to do is to remember to lean to the inside of the turns as you would on anything else and you should be ok.

A Barstool from Harbor Freight or any other place should be fine...

Hope that helped!

Thanks alot for the help. Now all i have to do is find some wheels and tires. I don't know what size to use, and was wondering what sizes yall used. Does anyone have 4 decent wheels and tires that i could buy for $100 dollars or less. I would like the back size wheels and tires to be the same size, and the front to be the same size. any help with that, or some wheels and tires would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I'd say get the stool and tire/wheel combo before you weld one bead.
heck, I'm using skinny hand truck tire/wheels and couldn't be happier....
You get the T&W combo before welding to make sure the frame comes out level.

No stu-gots. Watch e-bay there are some pretty good deals out there but read the feedback before you commit yourself.:thumb:

I went to a go kart swap meet here in Minnesota a couple weeks ago. They had tons of wheels and tires, about the same price as ebay. I think if I showed up right at the end of the meet, I could have got some great deals. People don't want to haul that stuff back home. I got to see alot of other cool stuff, too. trouble is, it is hard to find out about this stuff if your not into kart racing. I just found it on the internet.
