Been picked away at my ride, thanks war paint for the help with the levers..fabbed them up today. Used some brass bushings for my steering..nice and smooth. My rims are on there way, I will be ready for them before they arrive. I had to raise my stool a couple inches will some rod and flat washers to get everyhting to clear.
This forum has helped me alot with my build...There are some nice stools out there
Thanks

It is a wheel form a old vw my buddy scrapped it has a 3 1/8'' ceter bolt pattern and is ~13" in diameter. I have no idea where you could find one...it is from the early 70's. The name on the horn button says SPIDER.
I know you can get alot of custom wheels for VW's on line

Yikes!!! the steering is a little jumpy is this normal? I have the wheels toed in a bit.
Lots of top end speed..don't think I will try wide open. Have my govener removed thinking now maybe should of left it.
Maybe just the first time jitters:)
Way cool either way

now start working on toe-in / toe-out...at this stage if you don't have enough caster you will have to cut the spindle brackets and reweld them...start with the only adjustment you have and see if it settles down...I will say that stools with a steering wheel instead of handlebar must have extra smooth handling to compensate for the lack of leverage and rider balance..welcome to the "club"...there is fun in working bugs out and seeing / feeling the results

Hey Markus,
Nice work!
I noticed one thing I am not sure of you caught. When you setup the placement for the wheels as far as how far out from the frame they are, did you make sure to move them out past the ends of the foot rests?
I am asking because if you did not and you go up on the side, you may hit the foot rests in the ground and do a header....
Just my .02 cents..

Set everyhting at neutral and huge difference. I was able to open it up..goes like hell. I had my 60 year old neighbour on it and he had a huge smile on his face...
Thanks for the tips.
