I have noticed some members would like to upload photos to the site but are not sure how to do so. If you would like to add photos of your barstool racer to your posts, here is some information that should be helpful to you.

1. You can upload image types of .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .png.

2. The maximum file size in bytes for the image types mentioned is 80,000 or 80K.

3. The maximum width is 640 pixels and the maximum height 480 pixels. So the largest photo in width and height you can attach would be 640 X 480 pixels.

Recommendations to Help You with Sizing Your Photos:
1. If you are using Windows XP (and most other versions of Windows), if you click on START, ACCESSORIES, there is a program called PAINT. You can open your images up in the Paint program and resize by doing the following:

A. Open your image up in Paint and then click on, IMAGE, ATTRIBUTES and that screen will show you the size in bytes and the actual width and height. You should also be able to change the size of the image from that screen.

Because Paint is a weak graphics editing program, if you want to maintain the aspect ration of the photo, be sure you subtract the same number of pixels from the width and height. Example. 640 X 480 - 100 pixels in size would equal 540 X 380.

Tips:
1. To help with the size of the image is if you have the option, change the DPI (dots per inch) to 72. 72 DPI is what web images are converted to. This will greatly help the image size in bytes if you image is already more that 72 DPI.

2. Saving your images as .jpg or .jpeg also known as JPEG, will compress the image to a smaller size and help out. GIF and BMP files tend to be much larger. JPEG files are the most widely used on the Internet for websites.

Once your images are ready to upload all you need to do it when writing your message is to scroll down part way and click on the button called “Manage Attachments”. This button will open a new window so you can browse your computer and select the photos to upload.

You can attach up to 5 photos to each post. If you attach more than one to your post, the site will create a clickable link for each one –vs.- only attaching one image will cause the image to be automatically displayed when the message is read.

I hope this helps out for now. I will try to find a utility that will make things easier that you can download.
