1/4" wall will work fine....but consider beveling your weld joints to allow penetration of such thickness....1/8' wall is ideal for the strength you should need and MIG and TIG will penetrate that without a bevel on the joint....good luck!

That would work fine. However it would be a bit of over kill and extra weight. We have always used 1” x 1” x 1/8” square tubing and have never had a problem. As a matter of fact, most builders use the 1/8” also.

Are you doing something unusual with the frame that you would need the extra thick steel?

I found a local store however I cant seem to convert inches to is it centimeters? Example 0.333
What would 1"x1"x 1/8" look like when converted: 1"x1"x ?

Oh and will 1.5" x 1.5" x 1/8 square tubing be too much/wide work?

Thanks for the help guys

Just divide 1/8 so it will be .125. The 1.5 would be a little wider and would work, its just that the 1 inch tubing is perfect for these little machines.
