Like I said in my first post on this great new site I found, it's a Kawasaki 305 4 stroke. I kind of had it running but it really needs the carbs taken off and cleaned. Not sure really where to start but I'm leaning towards getting a old rolling kart chassis from a guy here in town. Lots of good parts. One question for you all, when I figure out how to mount this engine, what do you do for chain adjustment when your running a motor like this. I'll have alot more questions for the seasoned racers on this site. Thanks, BOXCAR

Your chain adjustment is going to vary according to how you mount youre engine. If you build an engine mount like the shifters run and put it on the tubing it will slide back and forth with butterflys on the bottom to hold it in place. If your planning on just bolting it directly to a plate then you got problems you dont want. Better figure out some way to cradle it in a mount so its able to slide. I will post some pictures from my shifter so you have an idea

Yeah that´s the appropiate way. However the other way to go is when you have all the rear axle parts and the engine mount we can tell you how to weld it ;)

good luck

I have looked on ebay and have done so many searches for a manual with a wiring diagram for my 1981 Kawasaki csr 305. Just no luck. They don't make it no more and there is no manual around that I could find. So I talked to the guy I got my old cycle back from. I asked him if he by chance still had the owners manual for the bike. Guess what, he sure did and better yet who would of thought, it has a wiring diagram in the back. I did what someone from another post I had told me to do. Took it down and had it blown up to 18"x24", I can see where all the wires go now. I still will need to figure out what I will only need to get the motor running. Anyone else running a cycle motor and if so what did you do. Thanks, boxcar
