Hey
I am planning on making an electric go kart or an alectric bar stool.
I figured that the cheapest solution for batteries would be car batteries.
I think a permanent magnet dc motor would be the best, right?
Now my biggest problem would be to find a speed controller for the motor and a foot pedal I could hook up to the speed controller. Anybody know where I could find something like this? An ebay link would be the best.
thanks for your help!

What are your design parameters?? Are you going to go for speed or cool?? Some of the first electric barstools were nothing more than a starter motor with an off/on switch. Cloud Electric might have some info that would help you. They deal mostly in cars and electric bicycles. What ever you come up with be sure and keep us posted. I am in the middle of building an electric BSR that uses the drive system out of a 3 wheel scooter. Top speed will probably be about 5 to 8 MPH. Just a little something to carry on the back of the motor home and get around the campground. HTH..........Terry

I am going more for speed. I probably going to make a gokart because of the low center of grafity. I will keep you posted on the building progress. But first I have to get all the basic stuff before I can post anything of it
