I just bought a Rocket Bar Stool and I read about the Torque Converter set-up you can buy to replace the original mini bike type clutch.

What is the big advantage to going to this set-up?

I'm a bigger guy and I just ordered a new rear gear to give me more low end, right now it is sluggish to get going, or I'm not use to a old mini bike type clutch set-up!

Also if you turn the stool very sharp it's like putting on the brakes is that normal on these things?

Also does anybody sell a NOS system to work on a Tecumseh 6.0 motor? What kind of power difference would I feel, and is it worth all the trouble to spend that much money other than looking cool.

Thanks

Hey there!
I'm a big guy also. and my first BSR didn't have the Torque Converter. It was ok has top speed but when i wanted to go up hill i had to get a run at it.
and yes if your running a live axle. When you turn if will slow you down. Now my 2nd BSR has a Torque Converter and man has it made a big change. It will hall my 290 pound butt up a hill and around the tall grass. I can even pull a full size truck . Video coming later.
Get it you will love it.

Hey warpaint,

When you're not pulling trucks with your BSR, how about you and a friend hook up with a chain and see who's BSR can pull who's?

I had seen a Ford -vs- Chevy truck pull off one night out like this.. The Ford dragged the Chevy all over, the Ford was also lifted.

I will have to do that. i gave my old frame to the kid next door. he should be done with it soon. I still got to tear my new BSR down for paint. Just to busy right now with t shirts. But he wants to race me when we get them done.

Warpaint. Thank you for the reply back to me. How much trouble is there to install this torque converter unit. Also is it adjustable once it is installed?

Has anybody ever installed a tach on a tecumseh engine. Jeg's sell tachs for Briggs motors only.

Also where is a good web-site to look for hipo parts for these things. I already have ordered from BMI they seem to have a good selection.

Thanks

Its maybe 5-10 minutes to install it and the same to line up the chain. Just make sure there is enough room between the engine shaft and the rear leg of the stool.
