I currently do not know if I will use square tube or round tube for the frame ???

Chewy,

I don't know how good you are at welding and fab, but I would recommend square tubing if you have not worked much with round.

The square tubing still looks nice, round is going to be a pain to cut, notch and bend unless you are good at it.

Just my .02 cents.

lolz... I know what 40mm is bro. ;) Very similar to mine. Must be nice to have only metric around. I'm running gold hardware too (on verticle cassette - not round and a 4 piston Hassie caliper, only on a 30mm axle thou.

scogne,

i believe it is 'you need a "volunteer"' not a "voluntary"

but quite amusing still the same. Hope it rides well and you don't take a dump on it.

And since my command of French is limited,

what is 'forum clan des fiottes' all about ?

Now back to the 'motorisé de toilette barstool',

since fine gentlemen can toil often for seemingly thousands of hours to perfect the optimum BSR, you have perhaps invented the soulagement d'ouvriers. Long live the working man.!!

Do you think that square tubing thickness will hold up?

I started building one out of the same tubing thickness but when I saw the settings at which I burn through with the welder I got very scared.

Hope it´s good enough

Chewbacca
August 27th, 2006, 07:37 AM
I use a Argon/CO2 (MIG, métal inert gas) welding machine.
With this, no problem for assemble tube 1.5mm thickness.
1.5mm for frame -> no problem of solidity !
My welder is a 150 Amps machine, and i weld in position 6/10.

August 27th, 2006, 08:35 PM
Well, I kno it can be Migged, tigged, sticked or oxi-acetilened

Thing is, it may be on the weak side, but it seems you got the knowledge to carry on it safely. Just take care, and keep pics coming =)
