I am a pro builder of karting engines, We have won many nationals with our engines, coming over to bar stool racing now. Going to build our first one ASAP. Are you looking for a hot stock cam, 400+ lift cam??? Cast or Billet cams??? Call or look at a dyno cams book. If you want a cam you can put it and just adjust ur timing and springs and not have to clearance the crank and the head for all that lift then get a Dyno 7x cam for the more HP. If you want a billet high lift limited modified type of cam, let me know and i will help you out on what type and the setup.

THANX RRE I AM LOOKING FOR MORE HP BUT UNFORTUNATELY I DONT KNOW THAT I HAVE A LOCAL MACHINE SHOP THAT IS MESSING WITH GO SMALL ENGINES SO I DONT THINK I CAN GET THE CRANC CLEARANCED OR A HEAD SHAVED VERY EASILY. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS ENGINE BARRING THAT CAM PISTON RINGS VALVES SPRINGS ETC??

Send it down to us in maryland if you want to. Get the 7x cam, Dyno springs, Billet lifters,Set the lash at .003,set the ignition timing at 29-30, you can cut the head your self. Hand cut. You can bore the carburator out, or get a tillison carburator, Get a Header for it. get your coil gap at .012, piston to cylinder clearance at .003, Ring gaps at .003 on top ring(compression ring) .005 on Middle ring(scrapper ring) and .008 on bottom ring( oil ring). Piston to crank clearance at .003. Definatley recommend at Billet rod with that aftermarket cam, those stock rods will break easy. If she blows with the stock rod, Dont come looking for me LOL, You could put a stroker crank in it(Bit price for a BSR engine though.) If that isnt fast enough. let me know.

LOL
RRE that info might be to much for him to handle. You will have to slow it down a little for him.

Also scrap that 7x cam, he wants power. maybe a 107ss will cut the mustard. He doesn't need to have a LEGAL stocker. LOL:)
REMEMBER THERE ARE NO RULES TO BUILD BY!

LOL my bad, yeah the 107ss would be ok for this application and you wouldnt need to clearance anything. Go wit the 107ss then, and dyno springs, and billet lifters, put fresh rings in it at those gaps and you should be good to go, You could be able to handle that..You will need to set the timing also and degree the cam in. Do you have a dial indicator and dial indicator bracket, and a degree wheel??? If not, Dont waist your time, Just send it to some one who does, Let me know if you need anything done, You can just send it down, ill purchase the cam and put it in and do all the stuff needed, for a price of course. Or you can get a used 107ss and send it with the motor, Let me know, Ill check all your clearances while its here.

Just stick with no gears to be on the safe side. You can make it a 2, or 4 stroke for that matter.

nothing is too much as long as u can get it to fit, the question is, how much is ur life insurance? LOL, i think its a LIL too much. id be nice to have, but the 5hp would be much more suitable for riding and crusing.
